New Apartments Take Shape Near Columbus Park In Downtown Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A new 118-unit apartment building appears to be nearing completion in downtown Stamford.

Construction crews were working on Rippowam Place on Tuesday. The aptly named complex is located at the corner of Rippowam Place and Washington Boulevard.

In addition to apartments, the building will house 1,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 4,200 square feet of restaurant space, according to the Stamford Downtown Special Services District.

The building is located a stone's throw from the Stamford Government Center and Columbus Park, where Alive@Five concerts are held each summer.
